Ride Details

Overview – The Ride of Champions is Qatar’s official mass participation event

The aim is to include the entire cycling community of the country, by offering various route distances for young and old, families as well as novice to experienced cyclists. There will be three road event distances to choose from depending on the rider’s’ fitness level, one family ride within the Qatar Foundation grounds, and kiddies ride in Oxygen Park. The Ride of Champions is a ride where the entire cycling community comes together, and not a race.

  • * If you are participating in the family event and your child is under 9 years of age, and in riding in a bike trailer with you, please note you have to register your child separately for the ‘kids event’ in order for us to issue a number and t-shirt for him or her.
  • * Please note that route distances and start times are subject to change
  • * Road, Mountain bike, Hybrids, City, Fat bikes are allowed. No TT bikes allowed.

  • You will need to present your QID, hand in your EVENT WAIVER 
    Participants entered for the Road, Family and Beginners rides will receive cycling jersey (kids under 9 will receive T-shirt)
    Sizes will be allocated on a 1st come 1st serve basis.
    Each rider will receive 1 x Bike Number and 1 x Race Number, you must wear both on event day!

COLLECTION ON BEHALF OF SOMEONE ELSE: You will need to have a letter and copy of the rider’s ID that shows you have permission to collect on behalf of  him/her.


Before you leave home ensure you have the following items with you:

  • Race Numbers (frame and back number)
  • Helmet
  • Full Water Bottles
  • Spare tube/pump/tools
  • Money (for the farmer’s market)
  • Sun Cream
  • Cycling Shoes
  • Change of clothing if you’d like to

… oh and don’t forget to bring your bike

Event Type

The Ride of Champions is a Fun Ride and not a race. Participants will however receive an official finishing time to compare your result with previous year’s ROC events.

Type of Bike Allowed

  • – Road bikes, mountain bikes, city bikes, hybrids, fat bikes.
  • No TT bikes will be allowed
  • – It is recommended to use a road bike for the Long and Standard Route distances.

Venue Facilities

Parking, Bag Drop,, Bike Park, Technical Support from Rasen Sports, Toilet Facilities, Farmer’s Market

Bag Drop

There will be bag drop facilities from 5:00am. Please note you will have to present your race number to collect your bag once you have finished your ride. No number, no bag. Bag Collection will be from 08:00am – 11:30am.

Bike Park

There will be a bike park area at the fan zone area where you can leave your bike. Please note you will have to keep you bike number on your bike and race number with you to be able to collect your bike. Bike Park will be operational from 08:00 – 12:30pmROC Fan Zone

ROC Fan Zone

All participants will receive a commemorative finishers medal and a complimentary refreshment pack.

Make sure to visit the booths of our sponsors and partners at the “ROC Fan Zone” of Ceremonial Court to enjoy fun-filled activities and satisfy your cravings for healthy food and beverages after your ride! All cyclists are encouraged to celebrate the day together and socialise with each other as cycling community.

Friday Prayer

For all those would wish to join the Friday Prayer there is a Mosque located inside Qatar Foundation, close to Ceremonial Court, and can be used for prayer.

Lucky Draw Prizes

There will be plenty of fantastic spot prizes to be won from our sponsors and partners Ooredoo, Turkish Airlines, Alfardan, Garmin Lingawi, Rasen Sports and many others

Ensure you wear your #rocdoha2019 Cycling Jersey on the day and stay until 11:00am for the official draws!

Event Safety

Safety is our first priority!
The event will enjoy a full service of vehicle support. The rides outside Qatar Foundation will be supported with police cars and lead vehicles in front of each ride to ensure the route is correct and clear. There will also be support vehicles along the route which will also include tech-support from our local bike shops. Backup vehicles will be available at the back end of the ride behind the last cyclists to assist anyone that cannot continue due to any unforeseen reasons. Medical services will also be present with ambulance vehicles behind each ride group and near start/finish area.

The Family ride and Kids ride in Qatar Foundation will be executed in a closed circuit, free of vehicles. Medical services will also be present.

Family, Beginners and Youth Event

This is not only just a Cycling Event but also a festival of cycling for the whole family. A day for all to come out and enjoy the day in Qatar Foundation. The cyclist will have the challenge to complete their rides from Qatar Foundation to central Qatar and back where they will meet their families and enjoy some relaxation and hospitality together.

Kids Rides

Because you are never too young to start, and we want to encourage all to be a part of the bicycle lifestyle! The kids ride will take place on the Green Spine opposite Ceremonial Court.
